Local Cleanup Groups
A CLEANER ALKI (BY AND BY)
Born as a Saturday morning beach cleanup group, we now strive to make a difference throughout our West Seattle neighborhoods with weekly cleanup and sprucing opportunities. Explore our organized Group Events, a self-led Block Drop, or try both!
Join like-minded neighbors seeking to create cleaner, safer spaces and a culture of environmental stewardship in the Pacific Northwest. Building community through purposeful action and fellowship. Together we can, Alki (By and By).
Block Drops
Block Drops are mobile cleanup stations deployed around West Seattle and designed for ease of community engagement. Stations consist of signage, pickup sticks, buckets and bags (usually 5-10 sets of gear depending on site location).
We drop stations off for a set period of time (usually 9am to 5pm), then pick them up at the end of the day and take care of the collected trash with help from our partners at Seattle Public Utilities / Adopt a Street program.
Just show up, use the tools provided and we’ll take care of the rest.
