Marginal March Madness Cleanup

Want to see if your litter pick slippers still fit? Join the CleanupSEA coalition March 19th to remove garbage along W Marginal Way SW and find out!

RESERVE YOUR SPOT

As the main detour route for vehicles coming in and out of West Seattle since the bridge closure, Marginal has accumulated a significant amount of trash over the last two years. That's why we'll make like cinderellas in the NCAA Tournament and change the narrative! All necessary equipment (trash grabbers, garbage bags, gloves, etc) will be provided. Our work will make the Duwamish Trail safer for bicyclists and pedestrians, and prevent litter from further polluting the adjacent waterway.

Review the available meeting locations and sign up here. Let's make this event Marginal's 'One Shining Moment'!

Pop-up Clean / Lafayette Elementary & Hiawatha Park

Similar to last week's school cleanup this will be a family-friendly, leisurely clean starting at Lafayette's entrance courtyard on California Ave. From there we'll head out around the block, hit the playground and also send folks across the street to Hiawatha, around Safeway and anywhere else we can cover in the neighborhood.

Vests, gloves , buckets, and pickup sticks will be provided and we'll transfer all the trash into Seattle Public Utility bags for pickup.

Have a kid who needs service hours? Send 'em over and we'll set them up! Come for as little or as much as you’d like, invite your family and friends as we make this a safer environment for our students and teachers 🙂

I'll be walking & cleaning too so if I miss you at the start time I'll leave the supplies in the courtyard.

I can be reached at 206-852-9552.
