Admiral Way Cleanup

Admiral Way Cleanup

We'll be tackling Admiral Way hill from Belvidere Park down to Spokane Street. Depending on turnout we can send people west towards the Admiral Junction, across to the viewpoint, and drive folks down the hill to work under the bridge and along Harbor Ave and Avalon Way.

The west side of Admiral hill has no sidewalk or shoulder so we'll want to practice safety first and foremost along that stretch. The rest of the cleanup area is more leisurely and family friendly.

Vests, gloves, buckets and pickup sticks will be provided. Dress for the weather, the environment on the hillside may include blackberry bushes.

Parking: Park in the neighborhoods at the top of the hill around Belvidere Park where we'll have our gear set up then you can dig in at the top of the hill, or grab gear and drive yourself down the hill or under the bridge for a broader impact.

Come for as little or as much as you’d like...bring a friend!

Please reach out with any questions, concerns or carpooling opportunities. I can be reached at 206-852-9552 or on Messenger.

Marginal March Madness Cleanup

Want to see if your litter pick slippers still fit? Join the CleanupSEA coalition March 19th to remove garbage along W Marginal Way SW and find out!

RESERVE YOUR SPOT

As the main detour route for vehicles coming in and out of West Seattle since the bridge closure, Marginal has accumulated a significant amount of trash over the last two years. That's why we'll make like cinderellas in the NCAA Tournament and change the narrative! All necessary equipment (trash grabbers, garbage bags, gloves, etc) will be provided. Our work will make the Duwamish Trail safer for bicyclists and pedestrians, and prevent litter from further polluting the adjacent waterway.

Review the available meeting locations and sign up here. Let's make this event Marginal's 'One Shining Moment'!

WS Bridge Underbelly & Bike Path Cleanup

Saturday from 10am - Noon; meet at Riverside Memorial Park (a little plaza at the intersection of SW Marginal Pl. and 17th Ave SW). ADULTS ONLY (for safety).

View Facebook event page

This will be the first in a series of grittier style cleans under the WS Bridge and along the bike path and surrounding areas (adults only.) Our mission will be to create a safer environment for bicyclists and pedestrians who use this area to pass thru on their commutes. Currently garbage, broken glass, and many discarded items make this a hazardous area to travel. There are longterm RVs parked along the street we'll be working on so if that is not in your comfort zone there are also needs along the bike path and around the commercial/residential area where we'll be meeting.

We’ll clean in groups and will be practicing safety first and foremost. Come for as little or as much as you’d like...bring a friend 🙂

Parking & Meet-Up

We’ll park and meet down towards Riverside Memorial Park which is a little plaza at the intersection of SW Marginal Pl. and 17th Ave SW. We will then walk up SW Marginal Pl. to the area under the bridge and clean in the cup-de-sac and hillside where garbage has been dumped.

Vests, gloves, buckets and pickup sticks will be provided. Saturday's weather looks overcast and good at the moment. There are areas on the hillside that have been treated as a dump for awhile so there will be a lot to do there.

Please reach out with any questions, concerns or carpooling opportunities. I can be reached at 206-852-9552 or on Messenger
